With digital information that can be compressed into smaller spaces, I, like most people in the 21 century usually listen to music on a MP3 player.I am also a fan of CD's; either burnt or ones that are bought in stores, the radio..sometimes and listening to music on the Internet. Mostly though, I listen to music on my MP3 because that device allows me to be mobile and fits conveniently into my chaotic schedule.Another reason I really enjoy the MP3 player..a.k.a my apple iPod is for the amazing high-quality audio that it produces even though it's a small package, and it's great to be able to download music anytime you want. Sometimes I even download French hip hop and other international artist just because I can and it allows me to be more culturally intrusive than the radio, which only plays a certain amount of songs because it is own through the same corporations. I will usually listen to music when I am walking to class, working out, cleaning and when I paint. For me music can work in so many different ways, sometimes Music works as a way to make time go faster when I am not wanting to do something or it's great for when I am enjoying moments and it makes that moment even more pleasing. Also, I can't forget how music is incredible just for the sole fact that rhyme and beats make you want to dance. Something, that I am interested in now is the wireless digital media development. With this device, the sky is literally the limit allowing consumers to be able to download music from anywhere, now people don't HAVE to be connected to an computer to transfer music, the connections are done wireless. With this type of device becoming more popular, I project in the next five years, audio devices such as the MP3 player will suffer from displacement theory- meaning that with the increase in participation in one communication technology, the domain takes away from the others. The reason why I make these predictions even over something that is one of my good friend..(not seriously)..is that with this type of accessibility and convenience it's a wonder people don't already know more about it.

The future of the Radio.

I can remember a time when I was younger when my family actually used the radio a lot. Either for music, listening to broadcasting or for the radio voice characters. Now, some fifteen years later the only time I really listen to the radio is when I am in a car and that is if there is something good on. I know in my me-maws day, the radio was really important. She use to tell me that almost everyone had one and that was how she would "watch" her evening programs. I suppose with the new technology such as the television, computer and internet there really isn't a need for the radio anymore, except for the purpose of having it in the car. For this reason, and using past events as a reference, I believe that the radio will eventually die off especially if companies can event a even better device that works in cars to substitute the use for radios now.

My feelings on Communication Technology.

I have never had much technology in my house growing up, except for the standard television. My family never owned a computer and sometimes we would have a house phone, but it wasn't a consistent thing. For that reason I learned to adapt without certain technologies, and if I really needed to use a computer or phone there was always the free public library and payphones. I didn't even get my first cell phone till I was fifteen, and that's because I bought the phone myself. Now that I am in college and I am seeing the world change around me, how so much is going digital, paper is dieing and movie stores are pretty much extinct is kind of scary. Now, I am trying to still figure out how "old" technology works, for instance Tivo, touch screens, Mac computers, etc. I realized a while ago that this is something that is demanding of me to know for my future careers so I have been training myself to be more computer and technology literate, but I still don't have that technology craze. I don't really care about getting the newest gadgets especially if their going to come out with a better one next week. To me, it would have to be the lesser importance in my life. I understand in some aspects, technology has the power to make life easier, but I personally am more of a washing my own dishes by hand than using a dish-washing machine person.
